Guy Kawasaki on how to become Web Famous

Just a link to an interview with Guy Kawasaki (AKA Guy Kawastalki) by VatorNews – Guy Kawasaki on how to become Web famous.

The Product Kawasaki is about giving (and tweeting about):

  1. Good advice about entrepreneurship and marketing.
  2. Good advice for start up business.
  3. Interesting links, pages, photos, absurdities etc.

Just find interesting content on Alltop.com, Stumble upon or similar sites and tweet about it .

Answer your e-mail. Yes, that is time consuming, but I don’t wear short skirts and work the party circuit.

My First Five Twitter Followers

Twitter is fantastic, but soooo slow!

I’m not sure, but I assume the sequence of Twitter is right. I’ve developed a very slow way (more or less) to quickly scan my Twitter followers (from bottom to top): It does take a little bit of copying and pasting, but the result is nice: You get a faster loading page than the actual page on Twitter Twitter | People Who Follow HappyHotelier:

No Avatar Twitter ID Site
5 wilhelmus William Bakker
4 globetrotteri Carrie Marshall
3 stephenjoyce Stephen A. Joyce
2 roadup Jim Stanger
1 travelrants Darren Cronian

These people are my first five Twitter followers.

Three of this Five I’ve met IRL (In Real Life).  And I like them! …Like I said: “Twitter is fantastic”

Construct your own Top 10 "Must Follow" List as it relates to your own Niche

Construct your own Top 10 “Must Follow” List as it relates to your own Niche

in Polls and Reader Discussions

The last post here on TwiTip certainly got people talking (or debating) and it’s given me an idea for a challenge.

Construct your own Top 10 “Must Follow” list as it relates to your own niche.

As some commented on the last post – the list does have a bit of a social media focus – so why don’t we come up with a series of lists of people to follow in different industries.

For example:

* If you’re interested in entrepreneurship – Ten People all Entrepreneurs Should Follow on Twitter.
* If you’re a designer – Ten People all Designers Should Follow on Twitter.
* If you’re a dad – Ten People all Dads Should Follow on Twitter.
* If you’re into politics – Ten People all Political Buffs Should Follow on Twitter.
* If you’re a blogger – Ten People all Bloggers Should Follow on Twitter.
* If you’re a rocket scientist – Ten People all Rocket Scientists Should Follow on Twitter.

You get the picture. I’m sure there are hundreds, if not thousands, of these types of lists that we could construct and hopefully in doing so we’ll highlight some great Twitter users who add value on different topics.

So write up your list (it doesn’t have to be a list of 10 – any number is fine – and do one of two things with it so we can all share in it:

1. leave it as a comment below
2. write it up on your blog or website and then leave a link to your list in comments below

Looking forward to seeing the lists people come up with.

Quote of the Day (10): Twitter agony of Zeldman

Twitter Agony:
“STOP SENDING E-MAIL I AM ON A TRAIN”

My reaction
Ha, would you believe such outcry would help with 11,259 Twitter Followers and getting more e-mail than Santa Claus??

Twitter and Preparing for #WTM08 and #TBC08

The Airlines did it again for me. I’ll hop over to London by car tomorrow. Nothing Zen in trying to get a last minute flight at a decent rate.

Travel Blog Camp 2008

I’m looking forward to meet about 80 to 100 fellow travel bloggers and industry persons at Travel Blog Camp 2008 (Registration is closed) set up by Darren Cronian of Travelrants in a London Pub tomorrow evening.

The header of this post is a bit cryptic. It means that those in the know who are attending WTM 2008 will keep contact via Twitter on a self created Twitter “channel” that can be found when you do a Twitter Search on the #hashtag #WTM08 or #TBC08. If you follow the link you get a view of the discussion like this:

Twitter Search for #WTM08

Quite funny to see the Dockland Light Rail being out of order for some time at the first day of WTM 2008.

And here the result for #TBC08:

Twitter search for #TBC08

You see me spreading the word via the T-list Group on Twitter.

If you are interested, you can read back the wider discussion between the Travel Twitterati at Travel Twit {a site discontinued since]

If you want to follow me, look at: Twitter | Happy Hotelier

So now you are all geared up to follow us….off I go….
