Recent Design Academy Eindhoven grad Bas van der Veer’s beautiful “A Drop of Water” is a simple rain-collection system with an integrated plant-watering bottle. The barrel is large enough to catch plenty of overflow, and a tap at the bottom lets you refill the bottle some more after draining its initial catch.
You guys know how we love production shots; below is van der Veer painstakingly making the mold, and he’s got plenty more on his site.

Boscolo Exedra Milano Hotel

Despite Milan’s de facto world design capital status, the city lacks design hotels. Boscolo Exedra, a new hotel opening very soon, will fill the gap.

The former bank will, after one year and €150 million in renovations, host 154 rooms, nine thematic suites (including Cinema, Sport, Family, Romantic and Milano) and conference rooms with a stunning view looking out on the Duomo.

High Five Time again!

Amusing solution to an awkward situation.

The seat diners dread the most is the uncomfortable center place, right where two tables join. Murphy’s Law comes into action and invariably one table is slightly taller than the other, causing an up-down situation! With the dedicated Plate For People Who Sit Between Two Tables, I’m sure we can tackle the awkward scene, and just for the novelty of eating off this cool plate, I’m willing to sit in the middle!
