In my search for extra ordinary hotels I found this: Sleeping in a survival capsule. An artists’ collective has placed two capsules in The Hague (NL) to sleep in.

Dutch Design (2): The College Hotel
The Amsterdam College Hotel Front
The College Hotel is being created by a local hospitality school in the Amsterdam Musea Area. It is expected to open officially on December 22, 2004. Not only a hotel in an old school, but also a hotel that will serve for the students of the hospitality school as practice on the job. It will be operated by the Spanish Stein Hotels Group.
Blakes Becomes Dylan
Blakes in Amsterdam, created by Anouschka Hempel, changes its name into Dylan. In 2003 it was taken over by the Spanish Stein Hotels Group.
Added in sept 2006:
I now see the name of Lady Weinberg should read as Anouska Hempel rather than Anoushka or Anouschka, and here is the link to Anouska Hempel Design.
Stavoren’s Stadeshuys
Pim en Jane Keizer bought the old cityhall in Stavoren, a small historic city in the province of Friesland, The Netherlands. It serves already as a wedding location and they are creating a wonderful honeymoonsuite in it.
Its website is under construction, but promises something beautiful.
Fashion makers into hotels
Analik has her own fashion label and a shop in Amsterdam (9 streets shopping area).
Now she has purchased a property in Antwerpen where she will start a new shop and a hotel. In autumn she will open a hotel next to her Amsterdam shop. More to follow under the name: Miauw Suites.
Other fashion makers preceded her:
- Carla Sozzani with 3Rooms 10, Corso Como, above her boutique (a Real Boutique Hotel?) in Milano, Italy.
- Roger Saul, founder of Mulberry, with Charlton House in Bath, Summerset, UK.
- Bvlgari with Bvlgari Hotel in Milano, Italy.
- Donatella Versace with Pallazzo Versace south of Brisbane, Australia, which opened recently.
