Some time ago Guya de Viajes pointed me to a Anholt Nation Brands Index which publishes a quarterly report about Nation Brands. On a quarterly basis they interview about 26,000 persons about the strength of the nation as a brand.
Interesting stuff for the destination marketeers, especially the Dutch Tourist Board:-).

Interestingly, I think Guya’s data actually comes from http://www.countrybrandindex.com, indicating that there are indeed many ways to segment similar data.
I’m not sure that the Netherlands or the UK are going to come top of the ‘beach’ rankings any time soon though…

As ever you and Vicky are very insightful. It amazed me when I downloaded their rapport I learned that only 3 % react on old fashioned advertising….so I will curtail my traditional ad budget even further down:-)
