Do not Mix up Holland and The Netherlands
The video is around some time already, but clearly explains the difference between Holland and The Netherlands: The country is The Netherlands. The inhabitants are called Dutch because they speak Dutch. Holland is a name the country is frequently referred to erroneously. There are two provinces, North Holland and South Holland that are part of the Country (yes, called The Netherlands).
Thanks for posting this video. I really had no idea between the distinction between ‘Holland’ and the Netherlands prior to watching this.
In Italy we tend to call it “Olanda” rather than “Paesi Bassi” (netherland), and the two are usually used as synonyms
