Looking Away from the Homeless (Street Art 24)

Think For Yourself

The Image

I saw this image somewhere on Tumblr. I clipped it (presses it to be more precisely, using a WordPress snipped of code) as a draft post for future use here. Then it disappeared from Tumblr, but using search image of Google i got this search result from Google. Nifty! You just drop your image in the search box and see who has written about it.

The Campaign

Through Zuza Fun and Scary Ideas I learned this to be part of a CLM BBDO agency campaign for a newspaper, Metro News: Think For Yourself! It demonstrates even ad agencies can create street art. Love it!

Put Your Bike in the Comb Please (Street Art 22)

Comb-Bike-Stand

Makes me smile this Comb Bike Stand made by the Knowhow Shop in Los Angeles for the city of Roanoke in Virginia.

The comb bike rack is out of our Hair… finished! Knowhow Shop is breathing a sigh of relief now that the bike rack is en route to Virginia. The 400 pound comb is handcrafted out of Mangaris using full mortise and tenon construction, while the hair is made from powder coated steel.

Banksy as a TV Producer (Street Art 21)

Unfortunately I have no channel 4, but Curatedmag mentions Banksy will act as a TV producer for “The Antics Roadshow,” an hour-long special to air on UK’s channel 4 on August 13.

The show will chart “the history of behaving badly in public, from anarchists and activists to attention seeking eccentrics” and has been dubbed an “incomplete guide to total anarchy.” It will look at the stories behind some of the most audacious stunts of recent times and what motivates the perpetrators, from mindless boredom to heartfelt political beliefs.

Banksy: ‘Basically I just thought it was a good name for a TV programme and I’ve been working back from there’.

After the recent London Looting Riots I find it a bit ironic that Banksy will bring some reflection about the backgrounds of the (counter)culture leading to the riots.. Or would he?

Vienna Street Artist (Street Art 20)

Vienna Street Artist 1

One of the reasons I like to visit Vienna in summertime is the quality of the street artists performing there. A real gem of destination marketing by this guy.

He’s able to sit still for hours, but can move:
